Santa Cruz and Portuguesa secured their spots in the Série D of the 2025 Brazilian Championship. The list of 64 participating teams has already been confirmed, with the final spot claimed by Maricá, champion of the Copa Rio.BRG365! Check it out!

The teams Santa Cruz and Portuguesa will return to the Série D, representing the regions of Pernambuco and Rio de Janeiro, respectively. This brings even more excitement to the competition. On the other hand, the teams Sampaio Corrêa, Aparecidense, Ferroviário, and São José were relegated to the Série D after underperforming in the 2024 Série C.

Format Explanation

The 2025 Série D will follow the same format as in previous years. The 64 teams will be divided into 8 groups, with the top 4 from each group qualifying for the next knockout stage. The CBF is expected to announce the groups between February and March 2025.

  • Alagoas: ASA and Penedense

  • Amapá: Trem

  • Amazonas: Manaos and Manaus

  • Bahia: Barcelona de Ilhéus, Jequié, and Juazeirense

  • Ceará: Ferroviário, Iguatu, Horizonte, and Maracanã

  • Distrito Federal: Ceilândia and Capital

  • Espírito Santo: Rio Branco and Porto Vitória

  • Goiás: Goiânia, Goianésia, Aparecidense, and Goiás

  • Maranhão: Maranhão, Imperatriz, and Sampaio Corrêa

  • Mato Grosso: Mixto and Luverdense

  • Mato Grosso do Sul: Operário

  • Minas Gerais: Uberlândia, Itabirito, and Poços de Caldas

  • Pará: Tuna Luso and Marabá
