With the victory in the Copa Libertadores last Saturday (30), Botafogo secured a spot in the 2024 Intercontinental Cup, a competition that replaces the traditional Club World Cup starting this year.

Thus, the path to winning the unprecedented trophy is already set for Botafogo. The Brazilian team will make its debut against Pachuca, the winner of the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup, on December 11.

In the semifinal, the winner of the match between Botafogo and Pachuca will face Al Ahly, the champion of the Asian Champions League, who has already defeated Al Ain, the winner of the African Champions League. And in the grand final, Real Madrid awaits its opponent.

It is important to mention that Botafogo has also qualified for the new Club World Cup 2025, a tournament that brings together 32 teams every four years. The team joins Palmeiras, Flamengo, and Fluminense, who also won the Libertadores in recent years and will have the opportunity to compete in the Super World Cup.
