On December 5, 2024 (Tuesday), Corinthians, with 11 titles, announced the list of players called up for the Copinha 2025, the traditional São Paulo Junior Football Cup.
The team, which was the champion of 2024 after defeating Cruzeiro in the final, will have a squad adjusted for the next edition, with only a small part of the players who participated in the conquest.
Changes in the Corinthians Copinha Squad
After winning the Copinha 2024, Corinthians promoted some players to the main team, including midfielder Breno Bidon, named the best player of the tournament, midfielder Ryan, goalkeeper Felipe Longo, and defender Leo Mana. Ryan, however, will be out until 2025 due to an injury. Additionally, the team chose not to register some key players for the 2025 edition, such as Renato, GH, and Kaick (who scored important goals in the 2024 conquest). This decision to exclude these athletes may be due to the limited time for preseason and preparation for the Campeonato Paulista, which begins on January 15. Coach Ramón Díaz is expected to give more opportunities to base players. Nevertheless, well-known names like defender Denner, forward Gi Negão, and forward Luís Fernando remain on the call-up list.
