Palmeiras confirms the signing of Facundo Torres and plans reinforcements in attack for 2025

Palmeiras has already agreed to sign striker Facundo Torres and is awaiting the results of his medical exam, with the official announcement of a five-year contract with the Uruguayan player coming from Orlando City in the United States. However, coach Abel Ferreira does not plan for Torres to be the only reinforcement for the offensive sector in this transfer window.
The club's management plans to strengthen the attack with two more players: a winger and a center forward.

In planning the squad for 2025, Palmeiras made it clear that, with the departures of Lázaro and Dudu, and the imminent transfer of Estêvão to Chelsea after the World Supercup, it will be necessary to strengthen the sector with two wingers.
The transfer fee for Facundo has been set at 12 million dollars (approximately 72 million reais), plus undisclosed bonuses. The club also has around 130 million reais to invest in new signings in this market.
Palmeiras' market analysis team is mainly focused on options in South America and Europe. For the winger position, the club intends to sign a more experienced player who has already played for big clubs and does not need time to adapt.
One of the most discussed names has been Jon Arias from Fluminense. However, internal sources have already confirmed that the Rio club does not intend to sell the striker to another Brazilian team.

The search for more mature players ready to play immediately has made negotiations in the national market difficult, as convincing rival clubs to strengthen a direct competitor is not an easy task.
Reinforcement for the attack is equally important. Regardless of Rony's situation, who may leave the club, Palmeiras wants a center forward who can make an impact inside the box.
The focus for this position is in South America. Paraguayan striker Álex Arce from LDU in Ecuador has already been discussed in meetings between Abel Ferreira and the management.
At 29 years old, Arce is at the peak of his career. In 2023, he scored 26 goals in 32 matches for Independiente de Rivadavia in Argentina. This season, he has already scored 35 goals in 44 games for LDU. Despite the high demand, Palmeiras has not yet started formal negotiations with the player's agent.
Palmeiras' planning for 2025 involves the signing of five players: two wingers, a center forward, a midfielder, and a left-back. The club is determined to further strengthen the squad and increase its options for a year full of challenges.
