Who will qualify?
The two teams with the largest fanbases in Brazilian football, Flamengo and Corinthians, will face each other this Wednesday at 9:45 PM (Brasília time) at Maracanã, in search of a spot in the next phase of the Copa do Brasil. The expectations are high, and the match promises to be thrilling, with both teams eager to secure their qualification.
Change in Flamengo's command
Following the dismissal of Tite on Monday morning (30), Flamengo announced Filipe Luís as the interim coach. Filipe's next challenge will be the Flamengo x Corinthians Game, valid for the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil. The Rubro-Negro comes into this match after a recent 1-0 victory against Athletico-PR in the Brasileirão, boosting the team's confidence for this decisive showdown.
Filipe Luís's first training session
On Monday, Filipe Luís began his work at Ninho do Urubu, preparing the team for his debut as coach. He will be assisted by coaches Ivan Palanco, Daniel Alegria, and Márcio Torres, along with physical trainer Diogo Linhares. Other members of the previous coaching staff, such as Vinicius Bergantin and Bruno Baquete, will also remain with the group, ensuring continuity in the work.
Tickets on sale for the decisive match
Flamengo started selling tickets on Sunday (29) for the first leg of the Copa do Brasil semifinals. Fans can secure their presence at Maracanã. Prices range from R$ 90 (half-price) to R$ 2,500 (full price), with discounts of up to 50% for fan club members, depending on the plan. The visiting fans from Corinthians will have tickets available for R$ 300 (full price).
Million-dollar prize
The competition is not only for sporting glory. The winner of the Copa do Brasil will take home a prize of R$ 73 million. With such a significant amount at stake, Flamengo and Corinthians are even more motivated for the Flamengo x Corinthians Game this Wednesday.
Now, it remains to be seen who will advance to the grand final.
