Noni Madueke's first Premier League hat-trick was an exciting surprise and gave him an immense sense of accomplishment. Our first league win of the season came with a big impact, and Madueke played a key role in that success.
Madueke Shines with Hat-Trick and Secures Crucial Victory
In our match against Wolves, the score was tied at 2-2 at halftime. But Madueke took charge in the second half, scoring all three goals in just under fifteen minutes. His performance was crucial in securing our lead at Molineux, a lead we maintained and even extended with a goal from Joao Felix.
Madueke's goals were quite similar, each resulting from his smart use of space on the right side of our attack. Reflecting on his first hat-trick for Chelsea, Madueke shared his thoughts:
“It’s really about being smart and waiting for the right opportunities,” he said. “Our system keeps the ball further up the pitch, making it easier to create chances. The first goal was a bit accidental. For the second and third, Cole Palmer made two perfect passes, and all I had to do was finish. They were good goals, especially considering they came from my weaker side.”
Madueke expressed his joy for the hat-trick and the victory. “It means a lot. As a striker, scoring goals is always important, but winning is even more. It’s been tough here in recent years, and I don’t remember a win against Wolves before, so this victory is really special.”
Madueke also praised Cole Palmer, who provided assists for each of his goals. “Cole's ability to stay calm under pressure is impressive,” Madueke commented. “Meanwhile, my role is to bring intensity and energy to the team. We work well together, and he has been key to my performance. We work well together. He always finds the right moment to make a pass.”
Optimism for the Season
The victory against Wolves marked our first league achievement under Enzo Maresca’s management and was preceded by a midweek win over Servette. Although we are still at the beginning of the season, Madueke expresses optimism regarding what is developing at Stamford Bridge.
“Everyone saw the impact Enzo had at Leicester,” Madueke stated. “He is extremely meticulous with the details. Although our first game against City showed some promising signs, we managed to be much more clinical in the match against Wolves. Additionally, with players like Joao Felix, Pedro Neto, and Christopher Nkunku, our team has impressive quality. Without a doubt, it was a fantastic performance.”
Furthermore, Madueke concluded on a positive note about the team’s progress. “We are showing great talent and commitment to adopt Enzo’s style of play. Since pre-season, we have made significant strides, and I hope that this evolution continues throughout the season.”
