The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D 2025 starts on April 13, 2025 and ends on September 28, 2025 with the grand final. The competition brings together teams from all over Brazil, providing an opportunity for cities and states with fewer teams in the first division to shine and helping to grow football in various regions of the country.

Rules of the Brasileirão Série D 2025
The Série D 2025 will follow a traditional format, with 4 phases: group, knockout, semifinals, and final. The aim is to give smaller teams a chance to advance to higher divisions.
Group Stage

64 teams will be divided into 16 groups, with 4 teams in each group.

Each team plays 6 matches (3 home and 3 away).

The 2 best teams from each group advance to the next phase.
Knockout Stage

From the 16 remaining teams, teams will play two matches (home and away).

The team with the most goals advances. If tied on total goals, away goals are counted. If still tied, the match goes to penalties.
Semifinals and Final

The 4 teams in the semifinals are guaranteed a spot in the Série C of 2026.

The final will be played over two matches and the winning team will be crowned the champion of the Brasileirão Série D.
