The grand final of the Intercontinental Cup is scheduled for December 18, and the opponent will be the winner of the last UEFA Champions League, Real Madrid. The match will be held at Lusail Stadium in Qatar, the venue for the 2022 World Cup final.
Pachuca secured the 2024 CONCACAF Champions League title with a 3-0 victory over the Columbus Crew from the United States, remaining unbeaten. Despite the achievement, the Mexican team faced difficulties, finishing the group stage of the qualifiers in 16th place out of 18 teams, which prevented them from qualifying for the knockout stage of the Apertura.
