After the victory at MRV Stadium over Atlético-MG and the title win, Gabigol confirmed his departure from Flamengo and revealed that, starting in 2025, he will defend the colors of Cruzeiro.
Gabigol's contract with Flamengo expires at the end of this year and will not be renewed. This will allow Cruzeiro to sign the player without any transfer fees, only needing to cover his salaries and the signing bonus.

In an interview, Gabigol expressed his feelings about the farewell: “This was my last final. I will not be staying at Flamengo. But the feeling is immense and mutual. These final games are an opportunity for me to say goodbye to the fans and my teammates.”
“I want to enjoy this moment. Until December 31, 2024, I will still be a player for Flamengo. I want to enjoy it, make the most of it, and have a lot of fun, because this experience has been truly amazing. I love each one, the players, the fans. So now it’s time to enjoy.”
