Women's 800 Meters Final

The women's 800 meters final took place on August 5, and it was definitely a tight and challenging race for all the athletes on the track.
Let's take a look at who was in this race.
Mary Moraa, born on June 15, 2000, is a young runner who is already an experienced athlete. She is the first American woman to win the 800m and the Kenyan record holder for the 400 meters. In the race that took place yesterday, she fiercely competed against the champion but ultimately fell short, earning her bronze medal with a time of 1:57.42, missing her dream of becoming the second Kenyan to win the women's Olympic title in the 800m.
Another athlete who caught our attention was Tsige Duguma. She is an excellent runner from Ethiopia. Previously, she won the gold medal in the women's 800 meters at the 2024 Indoor Athletics World Championships. In yesterday's race, she finished in second place with a time of 1:57.1, earning the silver medal, which was also Ethiopia's first Olympic medal.
The two athletes mentioned above are fabulous, but sadly they lost to British competitor Keely Hodgkinson. Keely Hodgkinson has a strong track record. She is the 2022 and 2023 world champion in the 800m. Therefore, her victory in the championship was expected. She truly lived up to the expectations and won the championship.
Women's 5,000 Meters Final

Beatrice Chebet, Faith Kipyegon, and Sifan Hassan won the gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively on Monday.
For Beatrice Chebet, this is her first Olympic medal for her country, Kenya. She is an exceptional long-distance runner. She previously broke the 29-minute record in the 10,000 meters, making history and being recognized as the “smiling assassin” by her fans.
Another outstanding runner, Faith Kipyegon, definitely experienced a dramatic moment. The referee initially disqualified her, but after she appealed, she regained her medal two hours later.
Discus Final

Valarie Allman, an American discus thrower, won gold in the discus competition for the second consecutive time at the Olympics, marking a first for the country. She threw a distance of 69.50 meters yesterday, which is much farther than she did when she won the gold medal in Tokyo in 2021.
Conclusion
Track and field is always full of excitement and drama. After witnessing the thrilling performances from Keely Hodgkinson, Beatrice Chebet, and Valarie Allman, let's look forward to the games in the future.
